Key Features and Technology

Speedshell: The ball’s exterior features a new 20-piece polyurethane (PU) panel shape with micro and macro textures. This design was tested in wind tunnels to improve aerodynamics, enhancing the flight stability, accuracy, and swerve of shots.
CTR-Core (or CRT-Core): An innovative core within the ball provides speed, accuracy, and consistency in motion, while also ensuring maximum shape and air retention.
Connected Ball Technology: The Pro version of the ball contained a suspended Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor inside its bladder. This sensor provided real-time, highly accurate ball movement data to the video assistant referee (VAR) system 500 times per second, which aided in faster and more accurate offside decisions.
Eco-Friendly: The Al Rihla was the first World Cup ball made exclusively using water-based inks and glues, making it one of the most environmentally friendly World Cup balls.
Design Inspiration: The vibrant graphics and pearlescent finish were inspired by the culture, architecture, traditional Dhow boats, and flag of Qatar.
